Mission and Vision
Mission: Debut Academy fosters a love for learning through classical academics and immersive arts education in a bilingual Russian-English environment.
Vision: To empower students to become thoughtful, creative, and confident individuals with strong moral character and a lifelong passion for the arts.
School Operations
Hours of Operation: Before School Care: 7:30 AM – 8:15 AM
Main Academic Program: 8:15 AM – 3:15 PM
After-School Enrichment: 3:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Calendar: Debut Academy follows a traditional academic year from September through June, with optional summer enrichment camps.
Holidays & Breaks: Observed holidays include Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Winter and Spring Breaks, and select national holidays.
Admissions Policy
Eligibility: Children must be 3 years old by September 1 for preschool admission. All students must complete the enrollment packet and attend an interview or placement assessment.
Enrollment Requirements: Completed Application, Proof of Age & Immunization, Emergency Contact Info, Registration Fee.
Tuition & Fees
Payment Schedule: Tuition is billed monthly and due by the 5th. Late fees apply after the 10th.
Refund Policy: Tuition is non-refundable after the start of the academic year. Registration and supply fees are non-refundable.
Discounts: 10% sibling discount; 5% discount for annual prepayment.
Attendance & Tardiness
Expectations: Students must attend regularly and arrive on time. Notify the office by 8:30 AM for absences.
Excessive Absences: More than 10 unexcused absences may affect participation in performances.
Health & Safety
Illness Policy: Students must be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning.
Emergency Procedures: Regular drills conducted. Keep emergency contacts current.
Medication Policy: Written consent required for staff-administered medications.
Academic Expectations
Curriculum: Bilingual instruction in core subjects and integrated fine arts.
Progress Reports: Issued twice per year with conferences; optional check-ins available.
Behavioral Expectations
Code of Conduct: Respect, participation, and responsibility are expected.
Discipline Policy: Verbal warnings → Written notice → Parent meeting → Suspension or dismissal.
Dress Code
General Guidelines: Neat, comfortable, closed-toe shoes. Performance attire may be required.
Communication
Parent Communication: Weekly emails, monthly newsletters, school app updates.
Meetings: Orientation in August, Fall and Spring conferences, open-door meetings.
Extracurricular and Performance Policy
Participation: Students should join at least one performance per semester. Rehearsals are mandatory.
Scholarships: Available through Debut Theater Foundation.

Preschool
Preschoolers do not have an official dress code but should be appropriately dressed for school activities with a neat appearance and avoid wearing offensive clothing. Girls must be in skirts or dresses. Boys must be in pants or slacks (no jeans or sport pants). No logos or text should be on the clothing. Shoes must be clean and neatly laced.
K-Grade 3
K - Grade 3 children without their dress uniform or shoes will receive a call home from the School Office and parents will be asked to bring the uniform clothes and shoes at that time. Our uniform is an outward opportunity to show the order and solidarity of our school.
Girls - Dress Uniform
Tops
- Classic Navy Plaid jumper, at or below the knee
- White, collared, button down (short or long sleeve)
- White or Navy button down sweater (no hood)
Legwear
- White knee-high socks or white tights (no leggings on dress uniform days)
Footwear
- Navy or black shoes (students with shoelaces should be able to tie their shoelaces)
Accessories
- Navy or white hair accessories
Boys - Dress Uniform
Tops
- White, collared, button down shirt, long or short sleeved (no ‘white polos’ in the dress uniform for boys)
- Navy ‘V’ neck vest or ‘V’ neck sweater
Bottoms
- Navy or black pants (no shorts)
Footwear
- Navy or black socks
- Brown or black shoes with a heel (no athletic shoes)
***Students with shoelaces should be able to tie their own shoelaces.
Accessories
- Hair: Navy, white accessories
- Jewelry: stud or tiny hoop earrings
- Nails: short and if painted, muted colors
Gym Uniform (KG through 3rd grade)
Gym uniform clothing should not have logos, pictures, or wording which may be considered inappropriate.
Boys
Sweatpants or shorts, t‐shirt, sweatshirt (for cooler days), sport shoes

Rules of Conduct

I. Respect and Responsibility

Treat peers, teachers, staff, and visitors with kindness and respect.

Use polite language. Bullying, teasing, or threatening others will not be tolerated.

Respect personal space and property of others.

Follow instructions the first time they are given.

Take responsibility for your actions and accept consequences gracefully.
II. Classroom Behavior

Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to learn.

Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

Raise your hand before speaking or leaving your seat.

Listen actively when others are speaking.

Complete assignments to the best of your ability and on time.
III. Common Areas

Walk calmly in hallways and indoor spaces—no running or shouting.

Clean up after yourself in classrooms, restrooms, and lunch areas.

Use materials and equipment as instructed and with care.
IV. Technology Use

Use school devices only for educational purposes.

Do not take photos, videos, or recordings without permission.

No texting, gaming, or unauthorized internet use during class time.
V. Dress Code

Dress neatly and appropriately for learning and movement.

Wear closed-toe shoes daily.

Follow special dress requirements for performances and rehearsals.
VI. Theater and Enrichment Conduct

Show respect for instructors and peers during rehearsals and classes.

Memorize lines, practice choreography, and come prepared for all sessions.

Be a team player—support and encourage your fellow performers.

Attend all mandatory rehearsals or provide advance notice of absence.
